  • The biggest change is the willingness to drop into my body. I remember the first time we worked together I mentioned that when I'm invited to feel my physical sensations, a professional part of my dancer-brain activates, and it's difficult to be present. That has almost completely gone away and I feel WAY more able to connect to what is happening for me somatically. I feel less confused about specifics, i.e. whether or not I want to become a parent, whether or not I need to make a career change…In the last two times we've worked together something big shifted in my life. I was not necessarily looking for a significant romantic relationship the last time we worked together, but it arrived. Similarly, when I began opening myself up to the idea of a career change, a new opportunity in my current career arrived. I think there is something unnameable about the way in which openness and self-reflection creates space for opportunities to appear.

  • My work with Katy has helped draw forth and clarify goals and processes. She does this through asking critical questions, encouraging practices aimed at furthering my exploration, and holding me accountable for committing to practices that are important to self-understanding. It is an evolving process that is sensitive to changes that occur along the way.  It is also very much a relationship – I experience Katy as attuned, sensitive to changes that happen for me, and able to adjust to take me to the next place I need to go.

  • I booked my first session with Katy hoping that she would help me to organize my chaotic life as a consultant and single parent. Katy has helped me to strengthen my own center and knowing, so that I no longer get knocked over by every wave of overwhelm. The somatic work she has done with me has given me insights into long-held beliefs from a perspective I have never been able to take on my own. Equally as powerful as the session itself are the beautifully written notes and practices she gives me capturing each session. The notes are both a mirror that allows for a deeper reflection and a window into seeing my experience with greater equanimity and compassion.
